34-year-old Madrid and Croatia midfielder Modric has won the 2019 Golden Foot award, a prestigious individual award that Ronaldo and Messi have yet to win.

Modric claims he is 'returning to best level'

After Golden Foot award win, Modric said, "It is an honour for me to receive this award," 

"I am returning to my best level, as I showed in the last game [against Eibar].

"There are seven very important matches until the end of the year and we will try to keep playing well."
