Madrid 'will attempt to offload outcasts Mariano and Brahim Diaz in January'

Real Madrid are reportedly hoping to offload outcasts Mariano and Brahim Diaz in January.

Both players have largely struggled for game time under Zinedine Zidane this season, and are unlikely to feature in the Frenchman's plans beyond the winter transfer window.

Mariano has failed to feature in a single minute of football this term, and Brahim has dropped down the pecking order after the emergence of wonderkid Rodrygo.

And Marca believe that the duo have been told their futures lie away from the Bernabeu ahead of the potential arrival of reinforcements.

But the club's top brass also believe that Brahim would be better suited to a loan move to gain increased minutes and confidence, although the former Manchester City youngster had snubbed a spell away in the summer to battle for a first-team spot.

After making just 12 appearances since joining from the Premier League champions, Brahim has been handed just nine minutes of senior football in the current campaign.

There now appears to be an agreement between both parties that a short-term switch will boost his hopes of establishing himself as a regular at the La Liga giants.

His teammate, who has largely failed to make an impact since his return to Madrid from Lyon in 2018, could be shipped out permanently.

The Andalusian was purportedly the subject of a concrete proposal from AC Milan, but has so far insisted on remaining at the club despite his lack of match action.
