David Beckham's statue unveiled outside Dignity Health Sports Park

No Cristiano Ronaldo-style mishaps here.

The much-anticipated statue of David Beckham outside the LA Galaxy's Dignity Health Sports Park was unveiled on a day after Beckham helped open a soccer field for underprivileged youth in downtown Los Angeles, and it's a spitting image of Beckham in action with the Galaxy:

Joining Beckham at the event were two other pillars of the Galaxy's success in his era, former head coach Bruce Arena and teammate Robbie Keane:

Beckham, who was about to embark on a new chapter as the owner of incoming expansion team Inter Miami CF, featured for the Galaxy from 2007-2012 after a glittering career with Manchester United, Real Madrid and the English national team. In addition to being a driving force in the introduction of MLS's Designated Player rule, Beckham helped the Galaxy to a pair of MLS Cup wins in 2011 and 2012, and helped greatly to increase the profile of both the team and the league.
