15 October is a special day for Niko Kovac. The Bayern head coach turns 48 on Tuesday.
Kovač was the long-standing captain of the Croatia national team until his retirement from international football in 2009.
He has also enjoyed a high level of top club action, having spent most of his club career in the Bundesliga, including spells with Hertha BSC, Bayer Leverkusen, Hamburger SV and Bayern Munich.
On May 25 2019, Kovač led Bayern to a league and cup double when Bayern defeated RB Leipzig 3-0 in the 2019 DFB-Pokal Final.
