Ashley Young is considering his future at Manchester United this month, following interest from China and three Premier League clubs.
As reported by Sky Sports, Chinese Super League club Shandong Luneng are interested in acquiring Young’s services, but aren’t in a rush to complete a potential deal with their transfer window open for another month. However they could face competition from three English top flight clubs in the week leading up to deadline day.
The broadcaster reports that while Young is weighing up a move to China, United won’t accept any loan bids in this window, suggesting they’d prefer a permanent sale. The 31-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford since the arrival of Jose Mourinho in May, with his last Premier League appearance coming in November.
Young has spent over five years at United since making the switch from Aston Villa, winning one Premier League title and an FA Cup in that time, but his successful spell at the club appears to be nearing its end.
Potential suitors Shandong are managed by former Fulham boss Felix Magath, with the likes of Graziano Pelle and Papiss Cisse amongst their ranks, as they currently sit third-bottom in the Chinese Super League.
