Happy 70th birthday to England's record appearance-maker Peter Shilton!

On 18 September 1949, top goalkeeper Peter Shilton was born in Leicester. He played 125 times for the England senior team.
Peter Shilton currently holds the all-time record for the most competitive appearances in world football – 1,390. The IFFHS ranked Shilton among the top ten goalkeepers of the 20th century in 2000.
