On this day in 2016, Sam Allardyce took charge of his one and only game as England manager.
Allardyce was appointed as manager of the English national team for a brief spell in July 2016, he left the role by mutual consent on 27 September, having managed the team for just 67 days and one match that England beat Slovakia 1-0 thanks to Adam Lallana's 90th minute goal.
