All Football new season Power Rankings: Liverpool atop followed by City & Barca

Hello again! We organize clubs of Europe's top leagues into an order that reflects the up-to-the-minute hierarchy every Tuesday. 

The rankings are a season-long measurement of clubs, tracking teams throughout 2019-20 and taking into account results from all competitions. Our rankings consider advanced stats, full-season play and recent performance with some gut feeling mixed in. 

Sides that have lost the fewest games naturally rank higher—though the strength of opposition met in a loss is considered—and both UEFA Champions/Europa League form and presence are used as tiebreakers for those with similar records. Teams that gather big wins against strong opponents get a boost.

Last Season

We've witnessed Real Madrid starting on top as defending Champions League champions, to be dumped out of top 10 after a poor season.

We've seen Juventus and Barcelona dominate for weeks, but Liverpool come up as the king of Europe and Premier League runners-up.

We've enjoyed Solskjaer's Man Utd climb up to 5th after eliminating PSG, but were dropped out of top 10 after surviving on 6th in Premier League.

We've followed Chelsea's poor run during the mid of season but Sarri lifted his first trophy as Europa League champions.

New-season Power Rankings:

Key points:

Liverpool won UEFA Super Cup and kept 100% start to the new season while Man City won Community Shield.

Barca strengthened by Griezmann and De Jong signings while new-look Atletico will be considered an absolute title contender in La Liga.

Tottenham finished as Champions League runners-up while Chelsea finished as Europea League winners.

Dortmund beat Bayern to lift German Super Cup before new season starts.

One more thing!

We'll introduce the stand-by section which refers to the No.11-No.15 where the clubs have the chance to book a top 10 spot with a win.

Key points

Real Madrid finished 3rd last season, while Man Utd finished 6th, both were trophyless.

Ajax enjoyed a wonderful season but they are weakened a lot by De Jong and De Ligt departures.
