On this day in 2007, Robben was unveiled as a Real Madrid player.
After becoming a Madrid player, Robben retained his key role in the team midfield during the 2008–09 season, playing 35 times and scoring 8 goals.
However, he moved to Bayern in 2009. Robben claimed he was "forced" to leave Real Madrid, saying that he "didn't want to go, but the club wanted to sell him".
