Egypt international Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet has finally completed his long-sought move away from the Turkish Super Lig side Kasimpasa to newly-promoted Premier League side Aston Villa.

Following his two stellar seasons with Kasimpasa and an impressive AFCON campaign with Egypt, Trezeguet has been strongly linked with a move away from the Turkish league.

KingFut had exclusively disclosed about the 24-year-old winger agreeing personal terms with the Villans in order to join the club this summer, following the two clubs’ striking of a deal.

And on Wednesday, Aston Villa have announced that Trezeguet has joined the team on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Kasımpaşa vice president Hasan Hilmi Öksüz stated that the club will not accept offers lower than €15 million for Trezeguet, but it’s believed that Aston Villa had agreed an £8.75m (9.76m Euros) deal, with ‘significant add-ons’.

Trezeguet has become the club’s ninth summer signing following deals for the likes of Wesley, Tyrone Mings, Matt Targett, and Anwar El-Ghazi.

He will be playing alongside fellow compatriot Ahmed Elmohamady, who will be enjoying his third season with the Villans.

The club is also currently owned by the NSWE group, a company owned by the Egyptian billionaire Nassef Sawiris and the American billionaire Wes Edens.

Mahmoud Hassan has started his career at boyhood club Al Ahly, where he made nearly 100 appearances and helped the club win two CAF Champions Leagues, one CAF Confederation Cup, one league title, and two CAF Super Cups.

His performances earned him a move to Belgian giants RSC Anderlecht, however, his time there proved unfruitful, with the club sending him on loan at fellow Belgian side Royal Excel Mouscron.

Trezeguet’s career saw a turning point when he made a switch to Turkish Super Lig outfit Kasimpasa, where he scored 25 goals and provided 18 assists, which attracted the attention of Premier League side Aston Villa.

The 24-year-old will now become the 12th-ever Egyptian to play in the Premier League after Ahmed Hossam Mido, Ahmed Fathi, Hossam Ghaly, Mohamed Shawky, Amr Zaki, Ahmed Elmohamady, Gedo, Mohamed Salah, Mohamed Elneny, Ahmed Hegazi, and Ramadan Sobhi.
