Ta-two! Messi covers up old leg ink

The Argentine icon has had the tattoo bug since having a portrait of his mother inked on his back, but this time he's gone for a cover job...

When you've got potentially the greatest left leg football has ever seen, people are naturally going to have their eyes on it.

Lionel Messi appears to have gotten sick of his old leg sleeve, seen below, consisting of a multitude of bits and pieces including his squad number, flowers, angel wings and a dagger.

Enter the tattoo fixers, who have gone to town on an almost full cover up job. All that's left is the Argentine's squad number and his childs arm by the looks of it.

Which begs the question: why did he do it? A roasting from team-mates? Daggers a bit much when you have kids around? Perhaps we'll find out at his next press conference.
