Messi is shown the 2nd red card in his prefessional career 14 years later

Lionel Messi has been shown two red cards in his career, one on his Argentina debut and one during his most recent appearance for his country, his 136th.

The forward was dismissed in the Albiceleste's Copa America third-place play-off against Chile after an incident with Gary Medel, who was also dismissed.

That was the player's first red card since August 18, 2005, when he was sent off 40 seconds into his debut when Argentina were playing Hungary.

With Barcelona, the No.10 hasn't been dismissed in any of his 687 matches.
