What if Messi chose to play for Spain instead of Argentina?

Argentina were knocked out of Copa America by Brazil. Messi missed another chance to win a title for his country. 

The 'tragedy' of Messi and Argentina brings a weird question: What if Messi chose to play for Spain?

Here are some guesses merely based on hypothesis.

1. No final curse for Argentina as they wouldn't have reached far

Without Messi, Argentina would not even have fought into World Cup final and Copa America final for twice.

2. Spain –  The greatest team ever?

Spain dominated the world from 2008 to 2012, winning World Cup and two European Championship in a row. With Messi on their side, they may even have won two World Cup champions and become the best team ever with no doubt.

3. Diego Maradona would still be the only God for Argentinians

If messi has never played for Argentina, Maradona would have remained as the only 'God' of Argentinians, since no one would have challenged his success.

4. Cristiano Ronaldo would not have won so many Ballon d'Or awards

If messi won champions with Spain, he would have won all the Ballon d'Or awards in those years, and Ronaldo would not have won 

5. Lionel Messi would have been considered the greatest ever

Messi would have become the greatest player ever without doubt, even Pele and Maradona would not have been comparable.

All hypothesis and guess. We know Messi loves Argentina - his homeland, and will fight for the champion till the end.
