Juan Familio-Castillo wants to stay at Chelsea this summer as a result of Frank Lampard's imminent appointment as manager.

The teenage wideman claimed last month that he was set to leave the club on a free transfer following three seasons in west London, but he is now ready to discuss a new contract.

Familio-Castillo, 19, has made a big impact at junior level — winning the FA Youth Cup and featuring in back-to-back UEFA Youth League finals — but he has yet to feature for the Blues' first team.

Former Chelsea midfielder Lampard is expected to take over as manager at Stamford Bridge later this week, with Jody Morris joining as his No 2.

Familio-Castillo — who can play at left back or as a winger — previously worked with Morris when he was on the Chelsea books as a youth coach between 2014 and 2018.

Lampard's arrival with Morris is likely to have a positive impact on multiple youngsters at the club, giving them hope that they will be given opportunities to shine in the senior setup.

Callum Hudson-Odoi, 18, has just 12 months left on his contract and his future was also up in the air, but he too is believed to be keen to stay now.

Twenty-three-year-old defender Andreas Christensen is another player looking forward to working with Lampard.

Lampard's arrival could also help Chelsea tie down Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Reece James and Mason Mount to new deals.

Chelsea are set to pay Derby £4million in compensation for Lampard, who has won 24 games, drawn 17 and lost 16 as Derby boss.
