Leyton Orient have announced that Ross Embleton will take charge of the club on an interim basis ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.
The appointment comes a fortnight after the tragic passing of Justin Edinburgh, who died at the age of 49.
Edinburgh, who guided Orient back to the Football League in May, suffered a cardiac arrest just six weeks after winning promotion from the National League and later died in hospital.
Orient chairman Nigel Travis revealed earlier this week that he would be promoting from within the club.
Sticking to his word, Travis handed Embleton the reigns who had developed a close relationship with the late Edinburgh.
Embleton, 38, will be assisted by Danny Webb, who has been named as his interim assistant head coach.
Furthermore, Orient's title-winning skipper Jobi McAnuff has been handed a player-coaching role on an interim basis.
The 37-year-old is currently working his way through his UEFA A qualification coaching badges and was given the role after being instrumental in Orient's promotion-winning campaign last season.
Following the announcement, Embleton insisted that Edinburgh would never be forgotten before praising the former Tottenham star for his impact at the club.
Embleton told the club's official website: 'I am incredibly proud. I'm privileged to be stepping into this opportunity to try to be able to help Club through what is going to be a very, very tough period.'
'No-one will ever forget Justin. He's made an impression, selfishly, on me and my family in a way that no-one I've ever met has managed to do.
'To have known someone for 18 months and to make it feel like 18 years, it is vitally important that everything we do at this football club, whether that is me as interim head coach or new players, that Justin remains a pivotal part of that.'
