Phil Jones' new silver hairdo branded 'as bad as his defending'

Phil Jones has been branded as a "laughing stock" on social media over his new look - but the Manchester United defender certainly doesn't see the funny side.

The 27-year-old looked shocked after seeing his new hairstyle after having it dyed silver - much to the delight and confusion of fans on Twitter.

Jones is known for his comical faces on the pitch during games where he regularly sends supporters into stitches over his expressions.

And the England international is back at it again after his barber Simon Townley tweeted two photos of Jones' new look.

He captioned the snaps: "There's standing out and then there's outstanding. When you're not a barber like the rest you can create looks like this."

Fans were left mystified, as one said: "Bloke is a laughing stock."

While another joked: "Does he think he'll be as good as Aguero if he dyes his hair the same colour as him."

One added: "Woeful like his defensive performance."

Another quipped: "What a waste of hair."

While one commented: "That haircut is as bad as his defending."

One simply stated: "Oh my f****** god, he's gone off the rails."

Jones - who is tied down at Old Trafford until 2023 - endured another disappointing season at the club, with fans demanding United sell him in the summer.
