On this day in 2006 - Gunners played their last game at Highbury

Arsenal beat Wigan 4-2 with ThierryHenry scoring a hat-trick to secure Gunners 4th place and Champions League football. This was also Dennis Bergkamp's last league game.

On this day in 2011 - Cristiano Ronaldo scored hat-trick just ten minutes

On 7 May 2011, Real Madrid winger Cristiano Ronaldo scored one of the fastest hat-tricks in club history as they beat Sevilla 2-6.

Playing at Sevilla's Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium, the visitors were already up 0-3 at the break with goals from Sergio Ramos (21'), Ronaldo (31'), and Kaká (42'). 

Sevilla striker Álvaro Negredo scored first in the second half (61'), but then Ronaldo delivered his record-breaking performance. In the 65th minute, he intercepted a pass at the top of the Sevilla box, beat one defender, then fired the ball past the keeper from close range. 

Five minutes later, he beat the keeper again from inside the box after a pass beat Sevilla's offside trap. In the 75th minute, he latched on to a long cross and volleyed the ball home from just  a few feet away. In all, the three goals encompassed a span of just over 10 minutes, two minutes shy of the club record of 8 minutes, set by Pepillo in April 1960 against Real Sociedad.

On this day in 2006 - Zidane played his farewell game for Santiago Bernabeu

Zinedine Zidane scored in the 67th minute of his final home appearance for Real Madrid in a 3-3 draw with Villarreal in the Primera Liga on May 7 2006. 

Zidane, who is to retire after the World Cup, sent in a looping header from David Beckham's cross for Madrid's second goal at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

Madrid's draw lifted them into second place, one point above Valencia with one match remaining as the teams battle for second position and a direct place in the Champions League.

Zidane's goal delighted Madrid's supporters, who had given him a standing ovation as he walked onto the field. The fans held aloft cards bearing an image of Zidane's No. 5 shirt accompanied by the words "Thank you Zidane."

On this day in 2003 - Arsenal defeated Southampton and started their 49-game unbeaten streak.

On 7 May 2003, Arsenal defeated Southampton at Highbury by the score of 6-1. That match was the first in the Gunners' record 49-game unbeaten streak in the Premier League, a run which saw them claim the league title for the 2003-04 season.

Three days earlier, Arsenal had lost at home to Leeds United. That loss ensured that Arsenal would finish the season in second place behind Manchester United, thus ending their title bid. Few expected that it would be their last league loss for over a season.

On this day in 2016 - Leicester City celebrate the unreal Premier League title at the King Power Stadium

The 2015–16 season was Leicester City's 111th season in the English football league system and their 48th (non-consecutive) season in the top tier of English football. During the season, Leicester participated in the Premier League for the second consecutive season, as well as the FA Cup and League Cup. 

In what was described as one of the greatest sporting stories of all time, Leicester were confirmed as champions of the 2015–16 Premier League season on 2 May 2016, finishing top of England's highest league for the first time in the club's history. And they lifted the Primier League trophy on May 7th after a 3-1 win against Everton

On this day in 2017 - McTominay made his United debut

McTominay made his first Premier League appearance on 7 May, coming on as a substitute against Arsenal, before starting Manchester United's final Premier League match of the season on 21 May, a 2–0 win at home to Crystal Palace. He already socored 2 goals for Reds Devils till now.

On this day in 1997 - Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans was born

Considered one of the brightest young prospects in world football, he began his career at Anderlecht, where he made 185 official appearances and scored 35 goals across four seasons. He won the league title twice and in 2017 was chosen as the Belgian Professional Footballer of the Year. He is the youngest Belgian to play in the UEFA Champions League, making his debut in the competition at the age of 16 years and 148 days.

Tielemans represented Belgium at several youth levels and gained his first cap for the full side in November 2016, aged 19. He was part of their squad that came third at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

On this day in 1987 - French striker Jeremy Menez was born

In 2001, Menez secured a move to Sochaux and spent four years in the club's youth academy. In March 2004, Ménez became the youngest professional football player in the history of Ligue 1 after signing a professional contract and made his professional debut in the 2004–05 season. 

After two seasons at the club, he joined Monaco.After two successful seasons in Monaco, he signed for Serie A club Roma on a four-year contract. With Roma, Ménez featured in the UEFA Champions League for the first time and scored 12 goals in over 100 appearances with the club. 

In July 2011, after three seasons with Roma, Ménez returned to France signing a three-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain. He was then signed by A.C. Milan on a free transfer in June 2014, signing a three-year contract. On 5 January 2018, it was announced Ménez had joined Mexican side Club América.
