The 20-year-old Atlanta United midfielder registered a goal and an assist against Sporting KC, earning him the Player of the Week award.
Current MLS champion, Atlanta United haven't had the best start to the new season after losing coach Gerardo Martino and taking longer to adapt to Frank de Boer play style. But 'The Five Stripes' have found that spark they needed for the 2019 season.
The midfielder Ezequiel Barco is having great performances with Atlanta United, and against Sporting KC the attacker was nominated for MLS Player of the week after getting a goal and an assist in the 3-0 win of his team.
Barco hit a shot at the 39th minute blocked by SPK goalkeeper, Tim Melia, which teammate Josef Martínez following the play took the rebound to open the scoreboard. For the second half, Barco doubled the lead with a distance shot that nestled in the side of the box. He set up Josef's second goal in the counterattack at the 76th minute for the third win of Atlanta United to sit just one point below the playoff line of the Eastern Conference.

It's the second time Barco is picked as MLS Player of the Week this season, joining LAFC captain, Carlos Vela, as the only two players to have won multiple POW awards in 2019.
The 20-year-old player matched his 2018 scoring total of four goals, with 'The Five Stripes' getting a win each of the three games where Barco has scored. Barco will join Argentina U-20 national team for the 2019 FIFA World Cup that starts on May 23rd.
