Ruud Gullit's son makes his professional debut

Maxim Gullit, son of Dutch footballing legend Ruud Gullit made his debut for AZ Alkmaar's B team at 17 years old against FC Twente.

The game ended in a scoreless draw and Gullit came off the bench with 19 minutes to go, substituting left back Joris Kramer for his first professional outing.

"The debut is a very special moment," he said to Fox Sports.

"It doesn't bother me being the 'son of somebody'.

"I'm Maxim Gullit and I'm going to work hard to keep moving forward."

The young Dutch defender not only has his father's genes, as his mother Estelle Cruyff is a niece of Johan, arguably the greatest Dutch footballer of all time.

Both parents showed their pride in their son's professional debut on their social media accounts.
