Hi all, welcome to All Football's On This Day! Let's find out what happened today (April 11th) in football history. If you have more stories and news that happened on this day in history, feel free to post them in the comment area and share them with AFers!

On this day in 2017, Two fine goals from Dybala helped Juventus to a comfortable 3-0 win over Barca

On this night were two fine goals by the young Argentine Paulo Dybala, another from the old warhorse Giorgio Chiellini and plenty of the hard yards from a Juventus team who had their opposition swirling around the battlements for most of the evening.

This was not a bad Barcelona performance by the standards of their catastrophe in Paris in the previous round, it was just they could not find a way through.

On this day in  2001, Australia set international record, beating American Samoa 31-0

They met at the International Sports Stadium in Coffs Harbor, New South Wales, playing before a crowd of 3,000. It took only ten minutes for Australia to take the lead, courtesy of midfielder Con Boutsianis, who went on to complete a hat-trick with goals in the 50th and 84th minutes. But the star of the day was forward Archie Thompson, who, in jut his third national team appearance, scored thirteen times (12', 23', 27', 29', 33', 37', 42', 45', 56', 60', 65', 85', 88').

Forward David Zdrilic wasn't far behind with eight (13', 21', 25', 33', 58', 66', 78', 89'), while Australia's remaining goals were provided by Aurelio Vidmar (14', 80'), Tony Popovic (17', 19'), Simon Colosimo (51', 81'), and Fausto De Amicis (55').

The match set the record margin for an international game, but is far behind the overall record of 149-0 set in a Madagascar league match between AS Adema and S.O. l'Emyrne in 2002.

On this day in 2018, Wolves' Ruben Neves scored one of the most insane goals you ever saw

On this day in 2011, Andy Carroll netted two super strikes as Liverpool beat Man City 3-0

Andy Carroll's first goals since his £35m move to Liverpool put a dent in Manchester City's Champions League hopes as they were emphatically swept aside at Anfield.

Carroll struck twice - the first a spectacular long-range strike - as Liverpool established a deserved three-goal lead by the interval and kept their own European ambitions alive with a vibrant display.
