Messi highlights our All Football Team of the Week and was selected as a competitive candidate in our All Football Player of the Week Vote, in which he casts the most votes beating Benzema, Lewandowski, De Bruyne & Deulofeu to the award.

The 31-year-old scored 2 goals in 2 La Liga games last week, including an iconic free-kick against Villarreal. In some ways, his performance was unremarkable for the GOAT, who has scored 33 league goals this season, but his brilliance was enough to earn him the admiration of fans around the world again.

After Barca's 2-0 win over title contender Atletico, Messi has become the player with the most wins in La Liga history (335), surpassing legendary ex-Madrid goalkeeper Casillas (334).

And following his goal in Atletico duel, Messi has now scored the exact same amount of club career goals (595 goals in 677 games) as Ronaldo, despite playing 117 games fewer. Also, Messi (416 goals) has surpassed Ronaldo (414 goals) as all-time top scorer of top 5 leagues.

Perhaps we will never be able to stop comparing what Messi and Ronaldo do throughout their careers, but it is our luck to witness the two GOATs' era.
