Former England No 1 Joe Hart 'may quit Premier League for MLS'

Former England No 1 Joe Hart could move to the U.S. after losing his place in the Burnley side, according to reports.

Hart moved to Turf Moor in the summer and made 19 appearances with both Tom Heaton and Nick Pope out injured.

However he has not played since Boxing Day, when Burnley suffered a 5-1 home Premier League defeat to Everton.

Heaton has been recalled, and Burnley have been unbeaten in eight league games since, winning five of them and conceding just seven goals.

This has left Hart well out of the first team picture, and according to the Sun, he has been offered to clubs in Major League Soccer.

MLS franchise Columbus Crew are among the clubs reportedly interested, with their current No 1, Zack Steffen, joining Manchester City in the summer.

Because it is currently the MLS off-season, the transfer window in America does not close until May, meaning there is plenty of time to thrash out a deal.

Hart, 31, has endured a downturn in his career of late, having lost his place as No 1 for both England and former club Man City.

He was dropped by Pep Guardiola when he took over at the Etihad Stadium, and was loaned to Torino and West Ham before moving to Burnley in a permanent deal.

Hart has 75 senior England caps, but has not represented his country since playing in a friendly against Brazil on November 14, 2017, and missed out on the 2018 World Cup squad.
