Nani shows off his skills as winger is presented to fans after the transfer

Former Manchester United winger Nani received a hero's welcome as he was presented to Orlando City supporters after completing a free transfer from Sporting Lisbon earlier this week.

The 32-year-old was met with plenty of cheers as he made his way onto the pitch prior to his new club's inaugural Orlando City Invitational trophy showdown with the New England Revolution on Wednesday night.

Wearing his new shirt and a pair of denim shorts, the Portuguese forward proceeded to perform a number of keepy-ups before waving to the fans and heading back through the tunnel to take his seat for the pre-season game.

Nani was clearly a good luck charm for the home side went on to thrash their visitors 6-2 and lift the exhibition trophy.

The veteran winger has joined Orlando City as a designated player having signed a three-year contract.

Orlando City SC EVP of Soccer Operations Luiz Muzzi told the club's official website: 'This is an exciting day for our organization. Nani brings tremendous experience to our roster.

'He's a dynamic winger with quality abilities to move and cross the ball, impact games and lead the offensive play.'

Nani scored nine goals and provided seven assists across 28 appearances during his third spell at Sporting having rejoined the club last summer.

After commencing his career at Sporting, Nani made the switch to United in 2007 and won an array of trophies including the Champions League and four Premier League titles.

Nani rejoined Sporting on loan in 2014 and then made the switch to Fenerbahce permanently the following year.

He has also had spells with Valencia and Lazio.

Capped by Portugal on over 100 occasions, Nani helped his country to win Euro 2016.

Orlando City get their new MLS season underway on March 3 when they host New York City FC.
