Atletico Madrid blatantly criticise derby refereeing on social media

Atletico Madrid have taken to Twitter to show their displeasure with the officiating in their derby defeat to Real Madrid.

Referee Xavier Estrada Fernandez was kept busy throughout and had to make many big calls, with the help of VAR, several of which happened to go against the hosts.

Their tweet was accompanied without any text, but with a pensive emoji and still images of three moments Los Rojiblancos feel went against them during the game.

The first was Jose Maria Gimenez's tackle on Vinicius outside the area, which was awarded as a penalty.

In the second, they drew a line to determine that Alvaro Morata should have been called onside for his goal which was ruled out.

Finally, they included a photo of Casemiro's challenge on Morata inside the area which they felt should have been a penalty.
