NYCFC continue their training camp in Abu Dhabi as part of Preseason presented by Advocare with another match against European opposition, this time against Swedish first-division champion AIK on Friday morning.

NYCFC are gearing up for their fifth season and first under head coach Dome Torrent. They dropped their first match on their tour abroad, a 2-0 loss to Danish side FC Copenhagen last weekend.
In addition to signing Romanian attacker Alex Mitrita this week, the news around the team has been the announcement of midfielder Alex Ring as new team captain.
AIK
NYCFC will face the defending Allsvenskan champions in AIK. They'll look to defend that title this year and will also embark on the quest to reach the 2019-20 UEFA Champions League group stage when they enter the qualifiers in mid-July.
The club features Canadian international and former Toronto FC goalkeeper Kenny Stamatopoulos, as well as former San Jose Earthquakes forward Henok Goitom, who served as captain and was AIK's top scorer last season.
