Underwater search for Emiliano Sala's plane gets underway

An underwater search for the remains of the missing plane that was carrying Emiliano Sala to Cardiff has begun this Sunday.

The operation is led by the scientific vessel Geo Ocean III, which will comb the deepest part of the English Channel, as well as the area south of Wales.

The Air Accident Investigation Branch of the United Kingdom (AAIB) has reported that the vessel will track the Guernsey area with sonar equipment, covering a perimeter of roughly eight kilometres.

The company has also informed that the underwater search will take three days and will be followed by a private boat operation, until the remains are located.
