Nantes pay tribute to Emiliano Sala

In what will be the French club's first fixture since the plane carrying Emiliano Sala disappeared near the Channel Islands, Nantes will pay an emotional tribute to the Argentine forward in their fixture against Saint-Etienne on Wednesday evening.

The tragedy came just prior to the initial date of this fixture and Wednesday's meeting is the rearranged date for the Ligue 1 clash.

Whilst Cardiff City have paid their own tributes to the forward, who had just signed for the Welsh club prior to the accident, Nantes haven't yet had chance to do so in an organised manner.

Wednesday will see the club's players wear shirts with Sala's name printed on the back, in lieu of the wearer's own name, whilst supporters will also be given an opportunity to purchase a plain white t-shirt with an image of Sala printed on the front.

All the proceeds from the sales of the shirt will be given to the player's family, who are likely to use the money to continue to fund the privately financed search of the English Channel, which has already found debris that is likely to have been from the plane in question.
