Barcelona and Real Madrid competing for former La Masia star

Barcelona and Real Madrid are fighting over the signing of Dani Olmo, currently at Dinamo Zagreb. According to L'Equipe, the two teams are both after the former La Masia player, who's impressing in Croatia. He has a contract until 2021.

Olmo, 20, has done well since leaving Barcelona for Zagreb. The winger has four goals and three assists in 26 games this season but, beyond the numbers, his performances are what have made him of interest to Spain's big two. The Spain U21 international's versatility has been one of the factors which has made him stand out.

According to the reports, Barça were the first club to tout a possible return to Spain to Olmo, with Madrid's interest following on. Los Blancos have also made the player an offer and would reportedly pay 26 million euros to land him, one million more than Barça.

For now, Olmo's not publicly spoken about any preference, although in a recent interview with SPORT he confessed his dream is to return to Camp Nou.
