Cardiff City on Emiliano Sala disappearance: We are very concerned

Football fans woke up to worrying news on Tuesday morning, with the plane that was believed to be carrying Emiliano Sala from Nantes to Cardiff having gone missing over the English Channel.

Cardiff City chairman Mehmet Dalman, who oversaw the Argentine's record transfer to the Welsh club, has commented on the news.

"We are very concerned by the latest news that a light aircraft lost contact over the Channel last night," he stated.

"We are awaiting confirmation before we can say anything further.

"We are very concerned for the safety of Emiliano Sala."
